I think it's amazing that you even got to find DVDs of them at all.

The only cases where I watched them legit would be for The Princess and the Pauper, Island Princess (see my original post on how I got to see these two, I don't actually remember what happens in Island Princess other than specific spoiler plot details lol), and Mariposa (another one where I don't remember what exactly happens, I don't even know if I saw the whole movie this time lol). Don't know if we still have those but yeah lol. I only watched most of the Barbie movies that I did (which were mainly some of the really old ones) because my family somehow got some weird bootlegs. I'm just like you, you're just like me, there's somewhere else we'd rather be~ The last Barbie movie I probably saw was Princess Charm School and I like to re-watch it once every full-moon So by the time the new Barbie movies came out, I was kinda out of the Barbie phase. So I had a collection of DVDs for different cartoons. Most of the Barbies I watched were the older ones too cause my dad used to buy a lot of DVDs for me for some reason. I'm so glad you also love Barbie/Barbie movies just like me *cue I'm a Girl Like You* I dunno if I will ever watch a Barbie movie ever again, but hey, I guess I should take your word for it-which Barbie movies do you recommend? Never really got actual Barbie merchandise that much, even back then, but hey that sounds pretty cool! Except for the angry sister part of course.

Honestly, I think The Princess and the Pauper have the best songs and story! I totally recommend you to watch the ones that you haven't seen, you won't regret it! :) Sometimes, I'd find myself randomly singing Free, I'm a Girl Like You and Cat's Meow as well. For me, The Princess and the Pauper will always be in the top spots of my favorite Barbie titles. there was that one time when she broke one of my Barbie's legs, thankfully they can be attached again haha. Just thinking about it still makes me feel so excited! There was one Barbie doll inside and a bunch of sparkly dresses and cute pairs of shoes. OMG!!! I know, right?! I still remember the time my mom bought me a Barbie set. As someone who has never seen the newer movies, I thought her thoughts on these movies were interesting and it was a funny and neat glimpse into what those movies were like. I seriously don't even believe there's a real contest.ĭamn whoever made this gif is very talented ♥įor the fellow nostalgic Barbie film watchers coming in the thread, I highly suggest watching this video. My favorite (and easily the best) Barbie film is The Princess and the Pauper. Most of the Barbie movies I've actually seen are the really older ones, but even then I haven't seen all of those old ones. I remember when 12 Dancing Princesses was coming out, but I never saw it I remember when The Diamond Castle came out and I recall seeing the "Connected" musical sequence (which is probably the most iconic part about the whole movie) when the movie was on Nickelodeon that one time, don't think I've ever finished it all though my elementary school literally gave out some promotional merch or something of the first Mariposa movie when it came out a childhood friend of ours had gotten Island Princess on DVD and I remember liking how beautiful Ro's dress was shit, I even remember my sister renting The Princess and the Pauper at our local video store long, long ago lol. I've literally seen and re-watched more of the Pokémon cinematic universe as a child than these movies. I'm glad that a thread completely dedicated to Barbie movies is finally made on this site, I was tempted to make this kind of thread for a while, but hey, at least someone else now gets a chance to shine with a nice thread to call their own.Īnyway, even though I remember really liking and occasionally playing with my sister's two Barbie dolls when I was really really little, I actually haven't seen much of the Barbie films. Yooo same here and this thread's making me feel so nostalgic that all those memories of playing Barbie and MyScene Flash games on all those years ago are practically flooding back hahahahaahahhaaha.
